Alt Name: Abbots Ripton. Opened: 1938. Status in 1944: 8th AF. 482nd Bomb Group. Current use: Disused. Remarks: Was EGWZ but closed 1994. All runways and taxiways still extant from USAF use. Much of the USAF fabric still present, buildings, hangars and hardened shelters. An A10 and F4C phantom on display inside the base, viewable if the security are agreeable. (02/2005)
