On 16th August 160th Infantry Brigade took over the area we had captured and began to mop up and extend it, while the Scots Greys supported 1st Bn. Highland Light Infantry on a cross-country move to Martigny and beyond.
They continued to support them on the following day in seizing the high wooded ridge south-west of Falaise. Meanwhile the rest of the brigade concentrated behind 71st Infantry Brigade, ready to pass through when they reached the Falaise-Argentan road.
This they did by a brilliant night attack down the ridge. Soon after first light the Scots Greys, with one company of 2nd KRRC, passed through 71st Brigade heading down the main road to Argentan.
