The following day "C" Company was attached to the Second Battalion of the 66th Armored Regiment and at 1700 hours moved up to secure Reckheim. Accompanying it in the attack were five light tanks and six medium tanks. In the face of intense mortar and artillery fire, the unit advanced doggedly to its objective. The tanks proved invaluable in neutralizing machine gun emplacements, strong points and snipers.
