Circumstances of the aircraft loss: Crashed near Lion-sur-Mer. This Mustang which had set out for the Ouistreharn area, was hit by gunfire from an Allied warship . This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 168. The location for the map is Lion-sur-Mer, France. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Barnard: he was killed. He is commemorated at: Runnymede Memorial, United Kingdom.
