On 1944-06-22, Pilot T Tamowiecz (Warrant Officer, PAF) with servicenumber P-793839 flew a Mustang III with serial FZ157 PK-J for this duty: Strafing. His mission was not completed. Circumstances of the aircraft loss: 12 Mustangs from 315 squadron took off from R.A.F. Coolham at 12.10 hrs with aircraft from 129 and 306 squadrons.
During one of the runs PK-J was hit by several 20mm. shells from ground forces, the pilot was forced to try and land as the engine had been severely damaged. He called to advise what he was doing then managed to crash land his Mustang in the marshes. This aircraft was a part of squadron no. 315. The location for the map is Coolham, United Kingdom. Circumstances at the end of this mission for Tamowiecz: he was injured. There is no commemoration location known.
