Alt Name: Pickering/Welburn Hall. Opened: 1943. Status in 1944: RAF. 7 Grp. Bomber 1666 HCU. Current use: Agriculture. Remarks: WW2 runways in terrible state - contrary to certain flight guides. My instructor assessed them as 'unusable'. There is a private strip on southern taxiway which appears to be in excellent condition. WW2 control tower is still extant with a few other buildings.
